Hello dear people! ❤️❤️❤️
I hope you all are doing great! 🙂
Well, if we talk about skincare, there are three things which I consider absolutely important – a wash, an exfoliator and a moisturizer!
One can have great skin without following the 10 steps of Korean skincare…
One can still have great skin without masking or toning…
But one cannot have healthy skin without washing, exfoliating and moisturizing the skin timely!
I have always had a special love in my heart for face washes and it is hard to stop myself when I see a new, interesting face wash! And so, when I came across this exfoliating face wash by Recast, I knew I had to try it! 😛
Today, I am going to review the same after using it for a pretty long time… Read on to know if I loved it or if it failed to impress me at all! 😀

MY TAKE ON THE PRODUCT:
Recast glycolic acid exfoliating G cleanser comes in a white-coloured plastic bottle with a pump dispenser on the top… The packaging is really sturdy and durable, however, the pump dispenser makes it unsuitable for travel purposes…
All the necessary details about the product, including the complete list of ingredients, directions and expiry date are mentioned on the backside of the bottle…
The exfoliating cleanser is totally transparent in colour and has a thick, gel-like consistency. It has a mild to moderately strong fragrance… The smell, although quite pleasant, is nothing natural and resembles the fragrance of deodorants for men! I don’t dislike the smell, but I think people with sensitive noses may find it a bit irritating…
The cleanser takes some time to lather up but it lathers really well (since it is loaded with sulphates 🙁 ) and one pump of it is more than enough for one use… It cleanses the skin well and washes off all the dirt, oil and grime… It can even wash off thick, viscous oils (eg. castor oil, almond oil, makeup removing oils) from the skin surface effortlessly (tried and tested :D)…
The various acids present in the cleanser exfoliate the skin and remove the dead skin cells, making the skin feel smooth and look fresh and slightly bright post use!
Now, doesn’t that sound like a great facial cleanser?
Yes, it does. But wait, there’s more to it!
I bought this product when it was still winter and the only time I tried it then (my skin was normal-dry), it left my skin dry and a bit too stretchy… So, I waited until the weather was hot enough to make my skin turn a little oily… I started using this cleanser again in April and I loved how smooth my skin felt after using it (though it still made my skin stretchy)… But within just 2 days, the area around my eyes and the corner of my nose and lips became super sensitive and the skin there got dry and irritated and started peeling off… Now, I don’t have sensitive skin, I can slather mud from a roadside pit on my face and it would still not react… So, I was sure it wasn’t an “allergic reaction” but just the skin getting super dry due to the acids… I stopping using it and my skin recovered… After that, I tried using it 2-3 times more and the same thing happened every time and I had to stop!
Last month, I decided to try it again for the final time, since my face was as oily as it could get and I wanted to be sure before writing a review! This time, even though it did make my skin feel slightly stretchy after each wash, it didn’t make my skin sensitive for a pretty long time… But then, after about 10-12 days, I started noticing the skin peeling off from the corner of my nose and lips again! 🙁
So, here’s what I feel about this product… It is an effective cleanser, no doubt! But it is probably too strong and corrodes the skin a bit too much with regular use, leaving it dry and sensitive… It is not at all suitable for drier skin types but people with oily to extremely oily skin types can use it occasionally/once or twice a week, as a regular exfoliator, if they really want to!

SUMMING UP PROS AND CONS:
- Available online on Amazon.
- Lathers really well and cleanses the skin of all the dirt, oil and impurities.
- Washes off thick, viscous oils from the skin, effortlessly!
- Exfoliates the skin with each wash, making it smooth and bright.
- Didn’t break out my skin.
- Not suitable for travel purposes.
- Has an artificial, deodorant-like fragrance which may bother sensitive noses.
- Contains a lot of chemicals, including SLES.
- Leaves the skin quite dry and stretchy post use.
- When used regularly, it makes the skin sensitive and dry and the skin starts peeling off.
FINAL TAKE: Recast glycolic acid exfoliating G cleanser is an effective facial cleanser which cleanses and exfoliates the skin really well… However, it is loaded with sulphates and acids and other chemicals which altogether dry out the skin, make it sensitive and may even lead to peeling off of skin. I do not recommend this cleanser but if you have oily skin and really want to try it out, you can use it once/twice weekly without much harm…
Hope it helps! ❤️
