The Body Shop British Rose Shower Gel Review

Hello dear people! ❤️❤️❤️
I hope you all are doing great… 🙂

So, the product that I am going to review today is my mom’s…well, technically, I gifted her this shower gel on her birthday and I had no plans of ever reviewing it! But then we started living together because of the pandemic and I used up half of it by myself… XD
So, as I have been using it for months now, why not review it as well?! 😛

Read on to know all about it… 🙂

MY TAKE ON THE PRODUCT:

The Body Shop British Rose shower gel comes in a transparent, light-pink coloured plastic bottle with a black flip-cap. The label on the bottle contains all the necessary details about the product, like the complete list of ingredients and manufacturing details. The overall packaging of the shower gel is durable and leak-proof, which makes it quite travel-friendly. 🙂

The shower gel is colourless and transparent and has a medium to runny consistency. It has a mild fragrance… The gel smells like roses – real roses – as if you have walked into a garden full of them! Personally, I am not a huge fan of roses, but I do find the scent pleasant. Anyway, the fragrance disappears as soon as I step out of the shower. 😛

This shower gel lathers well and less than a teaspoon of the product is enough for each use. It cleanses the skin well and removes all dirt and oil, leaving my skin clean, smooth and refreshed… ❤️

Right now, I have a normal (body) skin type and this shower gel doesn’t dry out my skin… However, it also doesn’t add any significant amount of nourishment to the skin.
So, in my opinion, it is best suited for oily to normal-dry skin types. People with drier skin types can use it, but they would need to follow it up with a nourishing moisturizer…

SUMMING UP PROS AND CONS:

PROS:

1. Easily available online on Amazon, Flipkart and Nykaa.
2. Durable, leak-proof, travel-friendly packaging.
3. Free of parabens.
4. Has a mild fragrance; smells like real roses.
5. Lathers well and cleanses the skin nicely.
6. Leaves the skin clean, smooth and refreshed.
7. Doesn’t dry out the skin; best suited for oily to normal-dry skin types.

CONS:

1. A bit expensive.
2. Claims to be soap-free but contains SLES and other chemicals.
3. The fragrance doesn’t last for more than 2-3 minutes.
4. Not a good choice for dry to severely dry skin types.

RATING: 4.4/5

FINAL TAKE: The Body Shop British Rose shower gel is a sweet-smelling, effective cleanser that cleanses the skin well without drying it out… I don’t find it unique or special in any way, but I do think that people who love the fragrance of roses, would like this shower gel…
So, if you are one of them, you can give it a try! 🙂

Hope it helps! ❤️
