MY TAKE ON THE PRODUCT:
The Face Shop Jeju volcanic lava pore scrub foam comes in a muddy grey coloured tube packaging with a sturdy, translucent plastic flip-cap on the top! All the important details about the scrub, including the directions, cautions and the ingredients list are mentioned on the back of the tube… The material of the packaging is of a really good quality and can withstand a lot of pressure without rupturing or leaking which makes it suitable for travel purposes, although it is only available in a single size of 150ml and is a little bulky! 😛
The pore scrub foam has a surprisingly (because I wouldn’t expect a lava based cleanser to smell like flowers! XD) pleasant fragrance with floral and citrusy hints to it! ❤ The fragrance although beautiful, is really mild and only becomes noticeable if the scrub is kept within an inch of the nose… So, it is not going to trouble the sensitive noses! ❤
The pore scrub is kind of shiny peachy-buff in colour and has a really thick consistency… The scrub seems to have only a few brown-coloured big scrubbing granules present within the foaming cream but if rubbed in between fingers, one can easily feel the presence of a lot more minute scrubbing particles that are hardly visible to the eyes! ❤
The scrub foam forms a very rich lather with water and just a pea-sized amount of the scrub is enough to generously cover the entire face and neck… The foam actually provides a slight cooling sensation to the skin, but it is extremely mild and vanishes within a few seconds… 😛
The lather needs to be massaged onto the skin for a couple of minutes, especially focusing on the areas with more dead skin build-up and blackheads, for an effective clean-up as the scrubbing granules present in the foam are quite less in quantity compared to the regular scrubs!
I have an oily skin type with a lot of blackheads around the tip of my nose and a bit of it in the pores on my cheeks and also quite a few breakouts which pop-up almost regularly! 😛
This scrub foam sucks away all the oil and grease (even the tiniest bit of it) from my skin, and not just the surface of the skin but also from deep within my huge pores, leaving my skin completely matte (but not stretchy), every time I use it! ❤
And it not just pulls out the regular oil and sebum produced on the face but also removes the layers of oil left on the skin due to the oil-based makeup cleansers or thick moisturisers… ❤
The foam also works pretty well as a daily scrub and scrubs off all the dirt, impurities and dead skin cells built up on the face throughout the day, making the skin visibly clear and bright! ❤
I have also noticed that my pores look slightly closed after rinsing off the foam, and it keeps my face grease-free for about half an hour after which both my pores and the sebum return back to normal! 😛
What I love the most about this scrub is that it is very gentle on the skin, yet very effective! In my opinion, this scrub foam lies somewhere in between a face wash and a regular scrub, making it a perfect daily cleansing scrub! It also doesn’t break out acne-prone, oily skin, which is a big pro! ❤
Now, since the scrub is so gentle on the skin, I don’t feel that it can be used as a weekly scrub or can replace a traditional scrub and is better suited as a daily cleanser! ❤
Also, I have definitely noticed a slight reduction in the amount of blackheads present on my cheeks but it has not done much for my nose and so, I feel it isn’t much effective in removing blackheads but does reduce them to a certain extent with regular use! ❤
The scrub foam sucks away the sebum from the skin, as it already mentions, and keeps it matte for quite some time, so, it is best suited for normal-combination to oily and extremely oily skin types & might leave the drier skin types even more dry and stretchy! 🙂

SUMMING UP PROS AND CONS:
1. Easily available online on Amazon, Nykaa and yesstyle!
2. The sturdy tube packaging, although bulky, is quite hygienic and can be carried along for travel purposes!
3. Free from parabens [but contains SLS, as it is a foaming scrub] and enriched with volcanic lava clay from Jeju island and quite a few essential oils, such as bergamot, orange, lemon, lavender, olive, grapefruit and rosemary! ❤
4. Has a really pleasant fragrance but it is mild enough not to hurt the sensitive noses!
5. The scrub foam lathers very well and just a tiny amount of the product is required for each use!
6. The foam cleanses the skin effectively and pulls out all the oil and sebum particles from the surface of the skin as well as from the pores, leaving the skin totally matte and grease-free!
7. The scrub makes the pores look slightly closed and keeps the skin grease-free for about half an hour!
8. The scrubbing granules gently scrub away all the dirt, dust and other impurities from the face and also work decently on the dead skin cells present on the skin, making the skin look smoother and clearer!
9. The scrub foam is quite gentle on the skin, unlike regular scrubs and can be used on a daily basis without harming the skin!
10. Works best for normal-combination to oily/extremely oily skinned people!
11. Doesn’t break out oily or acne-prone skin types!
1. Might make the drier skin types feel even more dry and stretchy!
2. Not very effective when it comes to removing blackheads but does reduce them to some extent!
3. Not suitable as a weekly scrub and works better as a daily cleansing scrub!
4. The price is a bit on the higher side, but then most of the Korean products are a little expensive! 😛
FINAL TAKE: The Face Shop Jeju volcanic lava pore scrub foam is a really effective daily cleansing scrub that cleanses the skin and the pores of all the dirt, impurities and grease and leaves the skin feeling clear, bright and matte! I would recommend this to everyone who suffers from an oily skin and clogged pores… This would make a great cleansing foam for them! ❤
Hope it helps! ❤
