◾Potatoes contain an enzyme called ‘catecholase‘, which helps in brightening the skin and lightening tan, dark spots, blemishes and acne scars.
◾Potatoes are rich in vitamin C which helps boost the production of collagen and thus prevents premature ageing.
◾Potatoes have skin-tightening properties, which in conjunction with other benefits can further reduce wrinkles and other signs of ageing.
◾The antioxidants present in potatoes are said to help the skin fight against environmental damage (pollution, sun damage).
◾Potatoes have anti-inflammatory properties and can help soothe acne and sunburns.
◾Applying grated potato or potato juice under the eye area can reduce puffiness and also help lighten dark circles.
◾Topical application of potato juice can help remove excess oil from oily skin and scalp, unclog pores, remove dead skin cells and tone the skin.
◾Potato juice is said to cleanse and nourish the scalp while preventing dandruff and other fungal issues.
◾It is also said to reduce hair fall, promote healthy hair growth and make the hair shinier.

  2. 1-Ingredient Skin Brightening Mask: Take a large potato, wash, peel and grate it. Squeeze the juice out of the grated potato. Apply the juice on your face and neck and leave it on for about 20 mins. Then rinse with normal/cold water.
Take the peeled potato and blend it using a blender. Apply it on your face and neck and massage gently for a few minutes. Rinse after 15-20 mins.
