COST: Rs. 125 for 110ml

SHELF LIFE: 36 months from the date of manufacturing.

MY TAKE ON THE PRODUCT:

The Colorbar nail enamel remover comes in a sturdy, translucent plastic bottle packaging with a black-coloured, screw-on cap on the top! The bottle is rectangular in shape (instead of the typical cylindrical shape) which makes it look really chic, irrespective of it being made up of plastic! 😀
The packaging contains all the necessary details about the product including the ingredients list and the shelf life, mentioned over it… The overall packaging is really tough and can bear a lot of pressure without rupturing or leaking, making the bottle quite travel friendly! 😀

The mouth of the bottle is fitted with a stopper which contains a decent 1.5mm wide hole in the centre… The hole is big enough to pour out the required amount of the spirit but small enough to keep a check on any excess liquid being poured out accidentally! The remover liquid is completely colourless and looks more like water but has quite a strong smell of alcohol to it… The spirit transfers its odor to the fingers and nails & the skin keeps smelling of alcohol for quite some time after use, although washing the hands with a soap or a hand wash does decrease the intensity of the smell! 😀

I am not too much into nail art or nail paints but I do possess a few local as well as branded nail enamels which I love wearing every once in a while… I bought this nail polish remover from Nykaa four months back and have been using it (and only it) since then…
This remover from Colorbar, effortlessly removes thick layers of ‘good quality’ nail paints (eg.: Maybelline, Lakme, Nykaa and even elle18) from my nails! For 5 fingernails I just need to dab the liquid on cotton twice and TADAA! It leaves my nails totally clean in no time! ❤
But when it comes to local nail paints, I need to rub the spirit on my nails for quite some time to get the paint off my nails completely… And honestly, I don’t blame the remover for this! The local nail polishes have a weird formulation and no matter which nail polish remover you use, they just do not come off with ease! 😛

The Colorbar nail enamel remover cleans the nails effectively and doesn’t leave the nails or the skin near them, rough, patchy or dry! It also doesn’t leave the nails ‘moisturised’ but it does leave them normal and unharmed! ❤

I wouldn’t say that this nail polish remover from Colorbar is unique or the best one available in the market right now… But yes, on comparing the quantity to price ratio of this Colorbar remover with that of other nail polish removers of comparable quality (from good, renowned brands), this remover definitely wins! It just costs Rs. 125 for a huge bottle of 110ml, which is a BIG pro! 😀

SUMMING UP PROS AND CONS:

PROS:

1. Very affordable and easily available both online as well as offline! You can buy it online from Amazon, Nykaa or Purplle!
2. Sturdy and leak-proof packaging; quite travel-friendly, except for its big size (compared to other nail polish remover bottles)!
3. Doesn’t contain acetone, toluene & DBP and is enriched with protein & vitamin B5!
4. Removes thick layers of nail paints with ease; works best with good quality nail paints and needs some effort while dealing with cheap, local nail polishes!
5. Doesn’t leave the nails looking patchy, rough or very dry!
6. Washing the hands with a soap/hand wash after using the nail remover removes quite some amount of the typical alcohol-like smell from the hands!

CONS:

1. Contains alcohol and leaves the fingers smelling strongly of alcohol (spirit) for quite some time, after use!

RATING: 4.6/5

FINAL TAKE: The Colorbar nail enamel remover is a branded yet extremely affordable nail polish remover… A bottle of 110ml for Rs. 125 is a steal deal, in my opinion! Plus, it does its job with ease and leaves the nails clean without turning them patchy or lifeless! 😀

Hope it helps! ❤
